Direction to Union Canal Carriers

Union Canal Carriers is based in the village of Braunston, between Daventry and Rugby on A45 and not far from M1 Junction 16 and 18. Easily assessable from Rugby and Long Buckby train stations. We are based on the Grand Union Canal at the bottom of Braunston flight of Locks near the junction of the Oxford Canal.

By Road:

From The M1 South and Via A45

M1 Junction 16 towards Weedon following A45 round Daventry. About 2 miles north of Daventry. Opposite The Boathouse Pub turn right sign posted Braunston; pass the church on your left, the village shop and the village hall. Turn right down Dark Lane, signposted Little Braunston; on the sharp left-hand bend turn right across the cattle grids and over the canal bridge to our office.

From The M6 / M1 North

M1 Junction 18 follow the signs towards A5 and Daventry. At the roundabout in Kilsby turn right onto A361, after 4 miles approx. turn right signposted to Braunston. When you arrive in the village take the 1st left into Dark Lane, sign posted Little Braunston: on the sharp left-hand bend turn right across the cattle grids and over the canal bridge to our office.

 

 

By Train:

Rugby Train station is about 10 miles from Braunston on the London (Euston) to Birmingham line (also includes Birmingham international Station) with a frequent and fast service to Rugby, which can also be reached directly from Birmingham, Manchester or Liverpool. Long Buckby is 7 miles but it is normally only the slow trains that stop here.
